The Wyandotte is a great addition to any flock. In the northern, colder states, they are a must because their rose combs cope with the climate better and do not experience the same injuries as other chicken combs exhibit.
The silver penciled variety has been hard to find but because of persistence we have added them to our flock. In 2012, we will have some of these beautiful birds available for purchase.
Their pattern is similar to the Partridge pattern except the base color of the feathers is white. The males have a wild Jungle Fowl plumage verses the female’s penciled pattern. If your taste is for nostalgic, you must have a girl or two in your back yard.
They lay a beige standard size egg, have a calm nature and do well in confinement or free ranging.
